Little Lampion Fruit by Rick-TinyWorlds Little Lampion Fruit by Rick-TinyWorlds
I photographed this when I visited my grandma over the holidays.
You might have seen this fruit a couple of times in my gallery - in fact I get most of those "winter cherries" from her garden.
So this image is dedicated to her and her tradition to make little fairy-lights with them (:

Just do it! :D It's really easy. Poke a hole in the fruit and put them on top of a LED - done.

That is a cool idea! My wife and I made a fairy house, (Fairy house) and I have been trying to figure out how to light it at night while maintaining a natural look. This may be the answer for me!

Hi coldstares, the house looks really lovely, it's great how you integrated the living moss and lichen into it. Have you seen The gnomist by chance? Beautiful movie.
I guess if you try making the fairylights with the wintercherries, the hardest thing actually is to get some. Where I live, you sometimes also can buy them at the florist, in case you don't have them in the garden.
And then it's very simple - poke a hole in them and stick a LED light in there.

OK That clip was really emotional... Not what I was expecting, but the creativity in the house was wonderful! I don't know if we have winter cherries, but we have Golden Raintrees which have a similar pod that may work. I will have to grab some and play with it!!!
