Tiny Moss Jungle by Rick-TinyWorlds Tiny Moss Jungle by Rick-TinyWorlds
This is a shot of my biggest moss terrarium, inside an old chemist's jar.
The moss plants really seem to like the warm temperatures and humid air.
Most doubled their size to when I collected them.

I love the softness. I thought it was a painting at first.

Now that you say it - it actually looks a bit like brushstrokes, especially with the grain from the fine moss on the glass.

Thanks, the plants really called for a bit more *experimental* composition :3
Photographed this jar over a year again and again until I ended up with a shot I really liked.

OH wow, somehow I never thought about keeping moss as a house plant :D This is so cool. There's a lot of moss growing on my balcony! I might try and make my own moss terrarium. Do you have a picture of the entire jar? Does it have air holes?

Here you can see most of it:

It is about 30cm high and air-tight, although I also had way smaller terrariums before (:
I explained the basic layers you need for a terrarium in this blogpost/video some time ago: www.tinyworlds.org/blog/tiny-w…
Maybe you find it useful c:
(to elaborate on why you put gravel in there: it's a drainage layer so the plant roots are not constantly standing in water, which would make them get moldy)

I was a bit confused about it not needing fresh air, but of course the plants produce their own oxygen :D This is so cool. Haha, I am so exited to try this.
